GAELFORCE Destination 11-foot 3-inch for #7/8 Switch 6-piece
Presented in a travel-friendly six pieces with no compromise to the signature action of the GAELFORCE Destination series, the 11-foot 3-inch for #7/8 is a tactical tool designed for smaller salmon and sea-trout streams as well as the more intimate headwaters of larger salmon rivers. The rod excels with tiny hitched flies in Iceland, sparse wet flies during periods of low water on spate rivers in Scotland, Ireland, and dead-drifted dry flies for Atlantic salmon in eastern Canada. The rod tube measures a tidy 25 inches (64 centimeters) for maximum portability to exotic destinations for salmon, sea-trout and steelhead fishing.
Utilizing the finest new graphite materials in the construction of the blank, the GAELFORCE Destination 11-foot 3-inch for #7/8 casts equally well overhead with a Bomber dry fly or with micro tubes when maximum stealth is required. The strong tip and the deep progressive action—the signature flex of the Destination series—eliminate side deflection of the tip when lifting line from the water and provide maximum feel when making a change of direction with sustained-anchor casts or with traditional spey casts.

I use this rod for summer salmon in Kola Peninsula and for Pacific salmon (except for King, of course) in Kamchatka. Awesome!!! ESSS #7/8 or #8/9 with 10′ Poly for Kola, ESP 500gr with 10′ T-14 for Kamchatka are the best mutch. With tube size 28″ it’s one of the best fishing rods for flights. Hope, the range of Destination switch rods will expand and we will see new, lighter rods in this line!
November 14, 2019I have acquired this Switch In addition to my Gaelforce set of rods, to fish on small rivers and to use hitch salmon flies. As it turned out, I spent the entire 2019 season with this rod in hand. It is capable to be used with heavy 10-ft tips, big flies, mouse imitations, etc. I used it with Gaelforce switch/short spey line which has proven its versatility. It is another masterpiece from James, once again! It is powerful and responsive, accurate and strong, all of that simultaneously! It casts very nice. Not me but the switch. Every inch of the rod length works. And, of course, consider unbelievable travel size! Thank you James.
November 14, 2019I bought the Destination Switch thinking it would be useful for the smaller pools on a recent trip, intending longer rods for the bigger water. Well, the switch never came out of my hands and the longer rods stayed in their cases. I was amazed how capable this Switch was in all ways. I paired it with the ESSS 7/8 425 gr and it was a perfect match with a 10′ int. polyleader used throughout. Just a splendid rod and far exceeding what I expected when I acquired it. If you have need of a smaller light rod with great capability this is your rod.
