The best sub 15 foot big river, big fish rod I have ever used. The rod is extremely powerful but also light and user friendly, the deep progressive action will favour anglers of all skill levels, and its perfect with everything from the 70 foot plus spey lines down to a skagit. The gaelforce destinations are very consistent all across the range, easy going on the body and full of power, and they develops power like a true spey rod should. My preference is the 9/10 clearwater special spey head, 600 grain skagit, 9/,10 extended multi tip and other heads around 42 grams as the heavier heads suit my slow deliberate spey casting stroke. I ideal conditions casts out to 45 metres were possible with the lines above . This rod would make me question if need anything longer even on the biggest scandi rivers i fish, I didn’t feel underpowered with it on lower Gaula, Kalix and its a lovely rod to play a fish
February 15, 2024The Gaelforce Graphene 14ft 6`Destination 9/10 is my favorite rod for June salmon fishing in River Orkla. The benefits of Graphene, gives the rod a crisp, deep and fast progressiv action. The rod always has singular reserves of power, and makes casting a long line more easy than ever before. The Equalizer Multitip 10/11 lines are perfect for the rod (44 grams). When fishing the Orkla River in June 2022, I had 8 salmon using this rod, the biggest a fresh 38, 5 pound salmon. I truly recomend this rod.
