This is a fantastic rod. As with all Gealforce graphene rods, very light in hand, deep load with crisp recovery. I find the versatility to be quite broad with particular stick. If you prefer a shorter line, the #7 15M Extended Spey Head feels like a scandi and is perfectly matched for those preferring a crisp load. The #8 is a fine option as well if you like the feel of a heavier line. The flexibility and grain window is quite forgiving. I find the real sweet spot to be the 7/8 63′ Equalizer Spey Line. This seems to compliment the rod length with an elegantly smooth casting stroke, whilst maintaining a user friendly accompaniment for less than expert casters. Those preferring a longer line matchup, the 8/9 73′ Equalizer Spey Line matches just as fine providing a little more of a longer taper for those broader rivers and fishing conditions.
