The Gaelforce 15 ft 10# is a superb spey rod. I have owned this rod for about a month and find it to be light in hand, ergonomically perfect, powerful yet sensitive, and a complete joy to cast and fish. As a fish fighting tool even the 3-4 pounders are fun. It has a strong tip for lifting long lines and loads deep into the butt where the real power is. I love how this rod rewards you when you get everything right. I recommend this rod to anyone looking for the best of the best top tier 15 footer.
February 4, 2020I used the 15′ 10 weight last week for the first time – River Tweed. Plus the multi tip lines. Blowing a huge gale but that didn’t stop it performing really well – both Ghillies had a few casts as did my fishing pal – all were very impressed – “a gentleman’s Spey rod”, delivers power right to the handle”, “handle not too thick”, “pings out a great line”, fishing pal said that “it’s the furthest he’s cast in a long time” – I managed to play and land two Spring fish with ease, one of which was 19lbs. Take a bow. Awesome rod.
March 26, 2018I Have fished Gaelforce rods for the last 2 years. IMHO the most responsive rods in the world! I own the 10150-4 and the 9146-6. The best long line rods I have even cast. The fit and finish on James rods are in a class of their own. But, as impressive as the rods are (unmatched in the world) James responsiveness and customer service is, believe it or not, beyond his tapers and materials. I write this review from Canada not more than 2hrs from having an unfortunate mishap falling with my 9146. I sent James a Facebook message and within 5 minutes I had a response, within 20 mins I had a phone call, from James himself, letting me know the replacement section was in the post. Absolutely SUPERB service… I would have excepted great service based on the quality of Gaelforce products, but this was a WOW moment for me. Thanks again James, OUTSTANDING!!!!
April 9, 2017I have fished this rod on the Norwegian rivers Orkla and Lakselva. The strong tip and the deep, fast and progressive action, makes this a fantastic fishing and casting rod.The strong tip lifts the line easily from the water, and the deep fast action makes casting a real pleasure.The rod casts longer and more effortlessly than any other rod I have ever tried. Siutable lines are 42 g heads or longer heads as the Gaelforce 50 g ext.s.head. James Chalmers has really succeeded designing this rod series.
