This is my first Graphene rod from Gaelforce, and I didn’t know what to expect to be honest. I purchased this rod for Great Lakes Steelhead and our Atlantic Salmon on the St Mary’s Rapids. I finally got some time with this rod on the river recently and was completely blown away! The rod retains the same deep flex and smooth action that is the trademark of these rods, yet it is explosive!! These are the tightest loops I’ve ever thrown. How a rod can be so easy to cast and so responsive yet be amongst the most powerful rod available on the market is beyond me!! This was a one of if not the easiest spey rod I’ve ever cast. The strong tip and deep progressive action allows you to use any line system you want! It simply doesn’t matter with these rods! Yet, when it releases on the forward stroke it’s like a cannon going off. Full marks on these rods! Once you cast one, your other rods will simply collect dust. My hat goes off to James!
